Experimenting with letterpress as a process and medium exposed me to the roots of printing and combining text and image, a significant aspect of graphic design.
The multi-page print is based on a folk tale from South America called 'How Birds Got Bright Feathers,' from Stories from Around the World, a collection of folk tales from different countries around the world, and one of my favorite children's books.
The image prints were illustrated and printed using the polymer plates, while the text was set in Futura Light using metal type.
These printed postcards feature a photograph of the New York City skyline clicked by me along with its metadata, printed by carving the image a in linoleum block, and setting the text in metal type.
